“Especially With Anthony Davis Coming Back”: Lakers Legend Makes Interesting Playoff Prediction for the Purple and Gold

On Monday, LeBron James led the visiting Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-120 victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers with a game-high 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists. On their four-game road trip, the Lakers went 2-2. To say the least, Magic Johnson has been critical of the Los Angeles Lakers’ performance this season. However, following the team’s road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, the Laker veteran altered his tune.

Magic Johnson, widely considered as the greatest point guard of all time, spent 13 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. In his inaugural season, he won a championship and the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, and he went on to win four more titles with the Lakers in the 1980s.

It’s fair to say that Magic knows a thing or two about basketball. So this time he has made an interesting prediction on the Lakers.

Magic Johnson feels the Lakers could make a good playoff run

“If the @Lakers play with this type of effort, speed and quickness on defense and offense, I think we could have a good playoff run. Especially with Anthony Davis coming back!”

Magic Johnson isn’t one to mince things, so this comment had to make Laker Nation feel more optimistic going ahead than before. In terms of the game itself, the Lakers defeated the Cavaliers in Cleveland by a score of 131-120. LeBron James led the squad to victory with a record 30-point triple-double.

Russell Westbrook had a double-double of 20 points and 11 assists, while D.J. Augustin scored 20 points on 7-7 shooting from the floor. Los Angeles also only turned the ball over eight times, compared to a team-high 34 assists. They were locked in as a unit all night, and Johnson must be feeling optimistic about their chances as the regular season draws to a close.
